I recently drove back to my hometown. When I was refuelling, I noticed a woman sitting outside the gas station drinking coffee. I recognized her as my ballet teacher. I sat next to her, and then we talked. She has been blind for ten years since we last met. She was lovelorn and began to plant the garden. Beside her was a handful of freshly picked mushrooms. She handed one to me and said, "mushrooms have no gender, do you know?"
Named after David Arola's mushroom recognition guide, the "what rain brings" series is an interdisciplinary project that explores the complexity of storytelling, beliefs, folklore, and the inherent weirdness of the natural world.
The post truth world is often ignored, but they are often accompanied by fictional beauty and danger. I am interested in the characteristics of photography as a mixed medium. It has the ability to describe the interweaving of myths, which are full of subtle differences. In addition, photography also has the ability to wander between news photography mode, performance, obsessive behavior and self-conscious manipulation. The ability of photography to promote faith is a force no different from faith. I hope that these photos are like tarot cards, and the audience exists as a medium between fiction and reality, which will form the validity of the basic colonial tradition in story telling and folklore, and promote a more humanized sense of reality: flawed, broken and true.
