"I watched a moon fall into the river."
At the beginning of the project, I simply wanted to observe the moon. The moon has always been portrayed as romantic, emotional, poignant and mysterious. I was also intoxicated by its enchantment until I saw the far side of the moon falling, with rivers and the earth. Those broken, messy, flailing. I suddenly realized the immense power that those ordinary natural landscapes hold.
These images were printed using the process of Cyanotype, and then they were steeped in black tea to create a rich variation of color. I find the scent of these materials very appealing to me, both in the tea or in the wood-based. So I chose wooden boxes and placed the photos in different sizes through typography. I wanted the boxes to have a "hidden" meaning - some half open, some hidden, some fully open - like interesting cabinets at home.
